The position of the South West was presented at the Oyo State House of Chiefs, Ibadan on Thursday 27th February 2014 by a committee led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, with retired Lt.-Gen. Alani Akinrinade as the Vice Chairman. The summary of the South-West Agenda to be presented at the National Confab is as follows:
1. Regional autonomy.
2. Parliamentary system of government.
3. State Police.
4. New Constitution.
5. Taxation System/Fiscal Federalism.
6. Status of Lagos.
7. Limiting the Powers of the Central Government and the Federating Units.
8. Limiting immunity of certain Public officers from prosecution.
9. Political arrangement to consist of a Central Union/Federal Government based on the current Six Geo-Political zones.
10. Recommends Westminster model of government at the Federal Level.
11. Recommends a ceremonial President and Prime Minister as the head of government business.
12. At the Regional level, a regional constitution is recommended, with a Governor and Deputy Governor. The Governor shall serve as the head of business
Recommends a Unicameral Legislature at the centre and legislators shall function on a part-time basis.
13. Calls for Fiscal Federalism/Resource Control system, where substantial part of the proceeds accruable from regions would be domiciled in the region, with a percentage contributed to the Federal Government by Regions.
14. Public Order and Security matters to be included in the residual list.

    Let us hope that the national confab will be the moment to greed ourselves well to prepare for the unity that had been eluding the country to move progressively towards what suppose to be our rank among all civilize nation of the size of Nigeria. My prayer, despite all odds will be to shame all enemies of 2015 Nigeria prophecy to break. Nice briefing and thank for this Steve.
