In its determination to reduce carnage on its roads, the Bayelsa state government has embarked on the building of a N97 million driving school to be equipped with driving simulators, to train drivers in the state to make them acquire the required skills in driving. The state commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Maria Ebikake disclosed this to journalists in Yenagoa during a tour of projects under her ministry as part of the one year anniversary of Governor Seriake Dicksons administration.
She said the foundation stone of the driving school which was laid on July 7th, 2012 to train men and women on driving skills is expected to be completed on February, 2013. According to the commissioner, the complex which also houses some administrative offices is being carried out through direct labour.
